Airs. Preston Thomas left for Havelock North yesterday. Miss Phyllis Whitcombe is visiting Nelson.
Mrs. W. Churchward has returned to Blenheim. Mr. and Mrs. McKinnon have returned to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Leo. Horrocks have returned to Auckland.
Miss Ethel Hammond (Hamilton') is the guest of Mrs. S. W. Shaw. Mrs. Paget arrives from Palmerston to-night.
Miss Viva Johns was hostess at a fox trot party last Tuesday. Miss M. Wade (Dunedin) left for Wellington this morning. Mrs. E. J. Allen has returned to Nelson. • • • •

Sister Crooke, of Palmerston North, is staying with Airs. R. G. McAlley.
Airs. Harold Kean Clarke is the guest of Mrs. S. Alleman, Dawson Street. Mrs. Eric Bayley, Airs. Gillon and Miss Nelson leave for Wellington on Monday.
Mrs. James Paul gave a most delightful children's party at the “Burwood” last Tuesday. # • • • Miss Al. Liardet, of Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. Fenn, left this week for Afarton.
Airs. C. S. Renn ell and Miss Foote have taken the cottage at the mountain for a week or two.
Miss Elma Carthew gave a jazz party on Thursday and one on Friday this week.
Airs. H. Bloxam, Mrs. S. Allen, Mrs. R. H. Quilliani, and Airs. W. 1>- Wade were hostesses at parties this week.
Airs. Arthur Richmond, of Midhirst, is spending her summer holidays with her sister. Airs. J. McDavitt, Castleclifl, Wanganui.
Dr. and Airs. H. Bertram, of Rotorua, are spending a few days here wtli Archdeacon and Airs. Evans before going on by motor to Napier. Aliss B. Evans is accompanying them.
