According to a Merrouge message, the first active legal step in the Ku Klux Klan cases occurred to-day, when a group of witnesses retained counsel to guide them in. answering questions. Counsel advised the witnesses not to answer various questions on the grouna of incrimination. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
