GOLF.

PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENT. TO BE HELD AT NEW PLYMOUTH. At the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council held in Wellington on Tuesday evening it was definitely decided to hold the tournament for professionals on the New Plymouth links on April 12, 13 and 14. It is hoped to make the prize money for the three days £l5O, and the council trusts that business firms who arc interested in golf goods will give same support in the matter of providing prize money. The programme for the tournament, will be definitely arranged at the next meeting of the council. This is good news for the New Plymouth Golf Club, fhe club has had already promises of financial support from quite a number of local golfers and business people, and there will be no difficulty in offering a good prize list. It is proposed to hold the amateur and open championships at Wanganui this year.
