FARMER ILL-TREATS GIRL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Jan. 17. At the Police. Court, Herbert Omond, on a charge of ill-treating a girl J2A years of age, was fined £lO. The girl had been licensed out to defendant, who is a farmer. Cm account, of something done to his children, he took her clothing off and put her under a tap and flogged her with a dog collar. The defence denied the stripping and urged that defendant, who bore an excellent character, 'was beside himself at wnat happened.
