It has been learned in Wellington, ongood authority, that the voting of .<**.(■ ‘branches of the New Zealand Waterside ‘ ' Federation has gone in favour of rejection of the recent award, results having been announced to the annual conference in Auckland. Despite the result of the ballot there will be no strike, stated waterside workers to a Post representative to-dav. They added that the watersiders de'ire a. constitutional method of rectifv'ng grievances, and that the officials of the Alliance of Labour, don’t want n strike because they are frightened of the new union which has been formed in Wellington. The ballot was only a political dodge.
