At the conclusion of the Federal Cabinet meeting Mr. Hughes refused to make any announcement of the Government’s future .action. A caucus of the National Party today will discuss and probably decide the question of leadership. Sydney, Jan. 15.

After the declaration of the Senate poll, Senator Grant made it plain thai the Labourites did not intend lo help to keep Mr. Hughes in power. He declared Labour’s first duty was to oust the discredited National Government.
