MASONIC CRAFT.
MEETING OF GRAND LODGE. THE BUSINESS REPORTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Christchurch, Last Night. The annual communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand opens hero to-morrow, when Lord JelUpop will be installed as grand master of the craft. Reports to be submitted to the business gathering show that since the laat balanee-«heet the funds of the grand lodge have increased by £4335, and now total £77,768. Under willows, orphans, and aged masons’ fund annuitants now total £96, the annual appropriations being £3932. A special fund raised by voluntary means is that created to assist members of the craft who suffered in the great war. and their widows and orphans, over and above the monetary help which they were entitled to receTve from the State. At. one period this fund stood aa high as £14,000, but as it proceeds upon its purpose the capital naturally decreases. In the last eighteen months 27 loans and grants have been made from £440 downwards, making a total expenditure out of the fuhd of £4721. Twenty-four new lodges have bean opened during the year. The next communication of the Grand Lodge will be held at Wellington next November. -
