THE WAITOMO SEAT. MR. ROLLESTON., (Contributed.) Mr. Rolleston has been having exceptionally large attendances at his meetings throughout the Ohura district. Saturday was spent at Whawhawa. and Otewa, settlers coming long distances 1o hear the candidate's address. Waimihea was visited at 2 p.m. on Monday, and at 8 p.m. the Tangitu hall was packed to the doors. As showing the extraordinary interest evinced in this electorate In the forthcoming contest, Mr. Rolleston was kept over an hour and a half answering questions at Tangitu, which is regarded as a Liberal stronghold. Mr. Rolleston disposed of all the questions with his usual conciseness and force. The candidate speaks this week at Mapui, Kaitangaweke, Derby’s mill, Kiokio, Otorohanga (Friday), Waitomo, and Hangatiki. THE STRATFORD SEAT. In the list of nominators of Mr. J. B. Hine, the Reform candidate, the name of Mr. Alf. Corkill, chairman of the Inglewood County Council, was omitted. THE EGMONT SEAT. MR. ASTBURY. /(Contributed.) Mr. D. A. Astbury addressed the electprs in the Kahili Road school on Friday evening, Mr. I. Willcox being in the chair. The candidate kept the attention of the audience throughout an hour and a half’s address, obtaining a very sympathetic hearing. The speaker’s statement that if returned he would resist any attempt to coercfr a minority of producers into a Dairy Control Bill against their will was received with applause. A vote of thanks and confidence in Mr. Astbury as their representative was carried with applause. There was a good gathering of electors, many of the fair sex being present, at the Opua Road school on Saturday evening to hear Mr. Astbury. The address was listened to with attention, and at the close a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr. Astbury as their representative was carried without a dissentient. Mr. Walsh occupied, the chair.
