VOTING WITH MR. HOLLAND.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Tt is difficult to understand why people will distort facts for political : purposes. It is done by men and women ' who would not do so on any account in. j private life. I read the letter written ■ by “anti-Red” in your issue this morning. in which he states that Messrs. . Smith and Masters voted for a no-con- : lidence resolution moved by Mr. Holland. As I write I have Hansard bei fore mo, Volume 186, page 14, and I ' defy “anti-Red” to prove that there is any mention of no-confidence in the resolution or in its heading in Hansard, ! although each subsequent want of j confidence motion moved in the House lis headed in Hansard as such. Mr. Massey, as Prime Minister, is the only person who can make a resolution one of no-confidence, and he did not do so. As a matter of fact, the whole discussion was confined to two speakers, Messrs. •Holland and McCombs, and lasted not 1 move than 15 minutes. Mr. Massey did not speak in the resolution, and neither j did any member of the Liberal Party. I What a pity it is that some people canInot be as straightforward in political life as they are in private life, and not distort facts in the manner “anti-Red'*
