MUST EXPORT MORE.

FOSTERING AUSTRALIAN TRADE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 23. The president of the Chamber of Manufacturers, at the annual meeting, said the exports for the year ended June 30 were valued at 128 millions and imports at 101 millions. Whilst this was a "step in the right direction they must export more as the margin was insufficient to pay interest on the indebtedness of the Comonwealth States and. private persons, which must approximate to 100 millions. Referring to the industrial troubles, the speaker said there would be no real progress till it was realised that the interests of labor and capital were identical. Both were necessary for production and should be •co-ordinated until the cost of production was reduced to the lowest unit.
