SIMPLE STATEMENT DESIRED. By Telegraph.—Pr«ss Association. Auckland, Nov. 23. The petition from Dunedin to the Presbyterian Assembly asking that steps be taken to prepare and adopt a. simple statement of the doctrines of the church was referred to the various presbyteries for an expression of opinion. The Moderator was instructed to represent the Assembly at the centenary meetings in New South Wales. The proceedings have closed.
