PERSONAL.
A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. F. P. Corkil) was passed at the monthly meeting ot the Taranaki Laud Board on Wednesday. For many years Mr. Corkill wu» arbitrator and valuer for the board, being also the original secretary for the school commissioners, who controlled the education reserves which were taker over by the Land Board in 1911. The death occurred on Tueeday, at the age of 87 years, at Hataitai, Wei- .• iington, of Mr. John McComisky. The late Mr. McComieky arrived in Wellington 64 years ago, and after being in business there as a painter and decorator, during which period he took an active part in the city’s affairs, he removed to South Taranaki, about 50 years ago. He returned to Wellington, and was of late years a familiar figure in Hataitai. Never having known a day’s illness in his life, he was as energetic at 68 a«s many a young man, and then thought nothing of walking from Hawera to Patea and back the same day. Mr. McComisky, who was predeceased by his wife, leaves a family of five daughters and three sons. The Utter are Messrs. W. and P. McComisky, in business at Patea, and Mr. F.
