Sir Ernest Pollock, late Solicitor-Gen-eral, in his opening speech for the Crown occupied four hours and concluded by tusking the jury to contrast real figures of the balance-sheets with the. faked ones, and, if hw facts proved that he was right in saying that this master mind, thia powerful personality, had misused his opportunity for a sinister purpose, it would be the jury’s duty to return a verdict of guilty.
