Dr. Mark Palmer is at present in Wanganui visiting his parents. Dr. Palmer served on mine-sweepers in the North 'Sea during the war, and afterwards concluded his medical studies. A Sydney cable reports the death of Mrs. Ellis Rowan, the bird and flower pairiter. A Nelson message reports the death of Mt. James Sim Evans, who has been Stipendiary Magistrate there for thir&t«n years.
