UNVEILING AT PIO PIO. (By Wire.—Special to News.) ' Te Kuiti, Last Night. General Sir Andrew Ruesell visited < Mahoenui and Pio Pio to-day for the purpose of unveiling a memorial tb the fallen soldiers of the district at Pio Pio. There were 50 returned soldiers on parade and after addresses by Mr. Boddie (chairman of the committee), Mr. W. T. ‘ Jennings, M.P., Mr. H. M. Skeet (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and Mr. Inder (president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association), General Russell unveiled the obelisk, which is a striking one on a hill just above the main road leading into Pio Pio. There was a great gathering of settlers from the surrounding districts present. This evening a civic reception is to be accorded General Russell at Te Kuiti. )
