THE BUTTER MARKET. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, June 12. The National Dairy Association of New Zealand has received the following cable from its London office, dated July 6: "Both the butter and cheese market weaker, with less demand; butter. New Zealand 220 s to 2225: Australian 2165: cheese, white 90s, colored 88s. CROSSBRED WOOL. COMMENT ON B.A.W.R.A. ACTION. London. July 11. The Yorkshire Observer (Bradford) says B.A.W.R.A.’s statement is a bullish piece of special pleading to justify its policy. Everybody knows crossbreds have decreased in the Argentine and New Zealand: but, as a setoff. there is an increase in Australian merinos. Moreover, the stocks of crossbreds in the hands of the trade is so plentiful that B.A.W.R.A.’s announcement has not substantially affected the market. Its influence is more than counteracted by the chaotic Continental exchanges. Bradford opinion is that B.A.W.R.A.’s <niore will have no appreciable effect upon July values, having regard to the present position of trade stocks and the free wool offering. The Yorkshire Post (Leeds) says that holders welcome and appreciate B.A.W.R.A.’s withdrawal of crossbreds on the ground that the fixing of definite quantities for sale puts the trade in a better position to make buying arrangements.
