RELICS OF NEW ZEALAND. RESTING PLACE IN DOMINION. Relics of the battle-cruiser New Zealand are to reach the Dominion short- [ ly. They include the shield with the ship’s coat of arms, formerly displayed in front of the bridge, the scrolls with the cruiser’s battle honors, and a piece of one of the turrets which was shot through at Jutland. There appears to be some doubt about the disposal of certain other articles that are of interest to the people of the Dominion, such as the Maori -mat and greenstone tiki that were worn by Captain Halsey and later by Captain Green when the battle-cruiser went into action. Sir John Green is now Damira! Superintendent at Rosyth, wlffete the New Zealand has been lying pending delivery to the shipbreakers, and presumably he will see that the possessions of the ship find a worthy resting place. The disposal of the relics that are coming to New Zealand is a matter for future decision. The Wellington Museum, already much overcrowded, may not He regarded as a suitable place for the reception of the relics. There is plenty of room in the new Parliamentary Buildings, and a place might be found for the shield, in the main entrance hall, which is now completed, or in the chamber of the House of Representatives.
