NEW TRIAL GRANTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington; Last Night. At the Supreme Court Mr. Justice Hosking announced that the Crown’s application for a new trial on Monday of Theodore Woodward, on a charge of causing actual bodily harm to James Doogan, of Petone, had been granted by the Court. A WANGANUI LOAN. Wanganui, Last Night. Very keen interest was taken to-day in the £50,000 loan proposal to complete the installation of a steam plaijt for tramways and lighting. The loan was carried by 1460 votes to 1138. About 4000 were eligible to vote.
