CHAIfcE OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Nov. 11. At the inquest on a years old child, Arthur Allen, killed by a motor car at Karamu bridge, near Hastings, on the 2nd inst., the verdict was that death was due to having been run over by a car driven by Morgan Davis. Davis made a voluntary statement to the police. Davis was subsequently charged with manslaughter and remanded on bail, self £5OO and two sureties of £250 ‘each, to Napier on Monday. There is considerable interest in the case throughout the district.
