KIRKWOOD v. EAST. MATCHES AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Kirkwood and East played exhibition games at the Maungakiekie Club's links and the Titirangi links yesterday. They appeared first in a four-ball game against Blair and Watt, the local professionals, finishing all square. Neither visitor played up to his best form, Kirkwood being off the line in several drives, but some shots front the rough were very good. Ln the afternoon Kirkwood played the best ball of R. M. George and F. G. Hood, winning four up and three. It was excellent geif, though Kirkwood was patchy. A LADIES’ MATCH. By Telegraph.—Press Asan —Copyright. New York, Oct. 2a. In an exhibition golf match of 48 holes at Pelham, New York, Miss Cecil Leitch (English champion) defeated Miss Alexa Stirling (formerly American chaunpion) by two up and one to play.
