Merinos increased 20 to 25 per cent., medium 25 per cent., and fine crossbreds and fine comebacks 15 to 20 per cent. Coarse faulty crossbreds were almost unsaleable. LAND COMPANY’S DIVIDEND. At the annual meeting of the South British Insurance Company the chairman of directors (Mr. Elliott), said the directors were not yet in. a position to submit a definite proposal to the shareholders in connection with partnership with the New Zealand Insurance Company, as the magnitude and novel character -'of tbe transaction demanded dose consideration, biit the shareholders would be advised when the two boards had readied a condusion. The report and accounts were adopted. Messrs. J. H. Upton and E. R. N. Russell were unanimously re-elected directors, as were the auditors, Messrs. Dunean and Duthie.
