MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Oct. 25. At the wool sales prices showed an increase o* from 10 to 15 per cent. NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORTS. At Inglewood on the 19th inst. we report a very heavy yarding of store cattle and a moderate one of dairies, and a most satisfactory clearance at present market rates. Hoggets Bs, yearling steers 10s, well-grown 15-month do. 255, 345, store cows 20s, 30s, fresb conditioned do. £2 15s, yearling heifers 33s 6d, £2 2s 6d, £5 2s 6d, Jersey do. £lO, £l4, £l5, backward and inferior do. £6 10s, £7, dairy cows £7, £S, medium classes £l3 10s, £l6, better quality do. £lB, £2O. At Rahotu sale and bull fair on October 20 a full yarding came forward despite the very rough weather. Store cattle afforded little interest, but dairy heifers close to profit, and bulls aroused good local competition. Store cows 15s, 255, forward do. £2 12s 6d, yearling steers 17s, yearling heifers 22s 6d, 3«s, £2 7s, empty do. £4 10s, springing do. £8 10s, £9 ss, dairy cows £l4, £l5 10s, £l7, pedigree Jersey bulls up to 22gns, grade do., yearlings .£2 10s, £6 15s, 2-year-old do. £8 10s to £lB, 4-year do. up to £2O, pedigree Holstein £7 7s, grade do. £5 ss, Shorthorns £7. £9. At Urenui sale and bull fair on October 17 a full entry of store and dairy cattle, and also a very good offering of bulls came forward, and a satisfactory clearance resulted. Prices throughout were on a par with late levels. There was a good local demand for bulls, Jerseys being mostly favored. Ewes and lambs 14s 6d, fat wethers 13s 7d, yearling steers 16s, 3-year bullocks £3, store cows 16s to £2 15s, fat do. £5 Is, yearling heifers £2 15s, £3 13s fid, £5 4s, springing heifers £l4, £l6 10s, poorer quality do. £B, £lO 10s, heifers calved £l6, £l7, dairy cows £l2, £lB, pedigree Jersey bulls to 29 gns, grade Jersey yearlings £2 10s up to £8 9s, 2-year-olds £6, £8 10s, £ll, best do. £2O 10s, £2l 10s, £27, aged realised up to £l7, Shorthorns, various ages, £3, £7 10a, Hoistelns £3, £5. At Stratford on the 18th inst. theret, was a full entry of store and dairy cattle. In the latter we report an Improved sale for store and forward cows, otherwise prices changed very little. Good yearling Jersey heifers were in big supply and sold as high as £l2 ss, this price being obtained for an extra choice line of GO on account of Mr. H. J. Kaye, and went to Mr. J. MeEldowney, of Bay ot Plenty. Dairy cattle were, if anything, a shade easier, but everything sold.
