Advice was received by the Northern Company yesterday that the Rarawa was barbound, and that the trip was abandoned. The vessel will leave Onehunga at the usual time to-morrow, arriving here on Friday morning. KARAMU SAILS. The Karamu completed: discharging her southern cargo yesterday and sailed for Wellington at 3 p.m. From Wellington the Karamu proceeds to Dunedin, and later returns to New Plymouth by the usual South Island RAMA FOR WELLINGTON.

The Rama, which brought cargo from Wellington, finished discharging yesterday and sailed for Wellington at 5.30 p.m. KAITUNA FROM AUSTRALIA. The Union Company advise that the Kaituna, which Is bringing cargo from Adelaide, was expected to leave Hobart (Tasmania) early this week direct for New Plymouth. CANADIAN CARGO BOATS. The new steamer Canadian Cruiser was expected to leave Halifax on Sunday last for New York to complete loading for New Zealand and Australia. Ti>e Canadian Importer, which was wrecked off the coast of Washington State on August 24, and was later towed to San Francisco waterlogged, was bound from New York to Australia and New Zealand. She is reported to have been nearly repaired, and is expected to resume her voyage at an early’ date. NEW PASSENGER SERVICE. The Commonwealth Government Line of steamers will (states an exchange) commence a new (monthly passenger service with the sailing of the Morcton Bay from London about the end of November for Australia, via Suez Canal and Colombo. The liners will have accommodation for about 700 third-class passengers. It is hoped that the first “Bay” liner will be in a position for the Homeward voyage from Australia in January, 1922.
