“BRAN PIE”

NEW’ PLYMOUTH COSTUME COMEDY CO. Few musical revues have awakened the interest that has been aroused by the announcement of the production of “Bran Pie,” which is to be staged in tlie Empire Theatre next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday by the New Plymouth Courtiers Costume Comedy Co. There can be no doubt that “Bran Pie” has been looked forward to, as evinced at the Iqeal box office, where there has been a heavy demand for seats. The plans opened on Saturday morning last, whcli there was a good booking, and all yesterday there was a steady stream of theatre-goers reserving their seats so as to be certain of seeing the show. “Bran Pie” has all the ingredients which are essential for the complete success of a revue, and simply bristles with musical gems, humorous items, potted revues, brilliant ensembles, clever comedy sketches and classical and fancy dancing. Quite a feature of “Bran Pie” will • be the sceneiy, which has been specially painted by Mr. 1. Thomson. It is really fine and quite above that usually carried by revue companies. The Courtiers have also gone to considerable trouble and expense in the dressing department of the show, and the color schemes are very striking. Box plans for the season are at Collier’s, and the management would advise intending patrons who intend booking seats to make application at once.
