THEFT ALLEGED.

DEFENCE CLERK CHARGED. By Telegraph. —Pre” Association Wellington, Last Night. Daniel Enol Sutherland, a clerk in the employ of the Defence Department, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon that on or about April 5, and on divers dates between April 5 and May 18, he did steal divers sums totalling £lO5 13s fid, the property of the New JZealand Government. A remand until Wednesday next was granted.
