RESTORING FRANCE.

W<?RK FOR IDLE BRITISHERS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 8, 5.5 p.m. London, June 7. The Morning Post’s Paris correspondent states 150 unemployed British exservice workers are being employed experimentally in the devastated area. It is hoped the result will justify the employment of thousands in the near future. There is no unemployment problem in France and the slow recovery of the devastated area is principally due to a shortage of labor, which deficiency is partly covered by the employment of Slovak, ’ Spanish and Italian unskilled men. As the Britishers will be paid French trade union rates no difficulty with trade unions is anticipated.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
