The death is reported in a London cable of Mr. Havard Thomas, the sculptor of Thyrsis, of which a replica is in the Melbourne gallery. Mr. J. W. Doom, fields inspector of the Department of Agriculture, is visiting New Plymouth for the purpose of attending the Winter Show. Mr. D. J. Goodwin, president, and Mr. L. O. Hooker, secretary of the Hawera Winter Show Committee, were visitors to the New Plymouth Show yesterday. A cable from London says Mr. W. F. Massey was entertained at lupch by the London office of the Bank of New Zealand. The Governor of the Bank of England was. present.
