London, April 27. The Leicestershire team against the Australians will be chosen from Sharp, Rudd, Salmon, King, Astlll, Cole, Sidwell, Geary, Curtis, A. Shipman, Whitehead, Mounteney, Lord, Benskin, Middleton.—-United Service. London, April 27. The Australian team against Leicestershire is unlikely to be selected before Saturday.
THE REDPATH CUP.
PROTEST AT THE AWARD,

At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council it was announced that the Redpath Cup for the batsman securing the highest average in interprovincial and foreign matefes during the season has been won by A. Anthony (Auckland), with an average of 62.7.
Mr. J. S. Barrett (Manawatu) said the decision was not satisfactory. The cup should be awarded, as was intended,' to the most meritorious batsman during the season, and that batsman for the past season was J. Sheppard (Otago) with an average of 47.6, who hafl batted against the Australians, whereas Anthony had not. He moved that It be a. recommendation to the management committee to amend the conditions to give the committee power to award the cup to the batsntan, who in their opinion, had put up the best performance during the season.
