NEW ZEALAND UNION

DISCUSSION OF NEW RULES.

CHANGE IN AUCKLAND. By Tjuegraph.—Press Association

Wellington, Last Night. The principal topic of discussion at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union was the suggested amendment of the rules of the game by Auckland, the chief of which is the kick into touch rule.

In the course nf a lengthy discussion the opinion was freely expressed that if Auckland was not allowed to play the amended rules it would mean the doom of Rugby in that province, and the League game would gain an impetus which would sweep right through the Dominion. Eventually a motion was carried giving Auckland the permission sought, proviso that the decision be subject to the approval of the English Union.
