Mr. P. J. Kelleher, of (lie Internal Affairs Department, has boon uppointed secretary of the Racing Commissioner. The commission will commence its sittings almost, immediately, as it is required to report not later than January 31 next. It has "to determine the racing dims to which licenses are to he granted tinder section 50 uf the (Jaming Act, 1!)08, in the racing year commencing August I, ami the number of days on which flic use of the totalisator is to he authorised by each of those licenses; and generally 10 inquire into such other matters relating thereto in the course of its investigations."
