Veitch (Wingamvi), urged the retention of the German professor who is at present in charge of the Samoan Observatory, where most important work of world-wide value was being carried on. The Minister of External Affairs said it was desired to keep the good work going. The professor mentioned would not stay in Samoa after December next, and Professor Marsdon has been asked to go and take charge until some definite policy is resolved on for the conduct of this Observatory's work.
