HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT. New Zealand mutton and lamb b in good demand at maximum prlceß. Butter.—Average price, English, Is £23 12s per cwt. Very limited supply of Irish, and quotations range up to £25 5s per cwt., equal to, for English 4s 2%d, and for Irish 4s 6d per lb. Cheese.—Business In English is dull up to £9 6s per cwt (la Sd per lb,) Spot price for Canadian white is £1 18s to £8 2s (Is 5d to la 5%d per lb), and for colored £8 2s to £8 Us per cwt (Is n%d to Is ."%d per lb); c.Lf. price £7 IDs to £8 Is per cwt. (Is M to Is 5y t d per lb). Hamp.—Manila market Is duller, buyers holding bacl!. Prices are lower. "J" grade Is now quoted at £O7 for July-September, and October-December shipments. New ZoaI land market is firmer, prices stiffening, and good business has been done. High point October-December shipment sold £55 to £56 per ton; fair Oetober-JDecember shipment, from £52 10s to £53 15s per ton. Sellers quote high point on spot at £56, fair £54; October-December shipment, £SO 10s and £54 per ton, respectively.

Wool.—Bradford market continues dull and depressed, owing to the absence of new business, and no indication of improvement. Tops for Immediate delivery quoted nominally at: M's, Cs Od; .M's, 4s lOd; 40's, Is lid per lb. At Hull, Government public sales this week 8000 bales of colonial wool were offered, and less than 2000 were sold. Merinos, par to 5 per cent, below London closing values; crossbreds, practically Rll wittdrawn.
