When the case came before the court, Eddie (Jicotte, a star pitcher, confessed that he and seven other players allowed Cncinnati to win. Evidence is in possession of the authorities showing the incriminated players were promised £20,000 to lose, but received less than £2OOO, the balance allegedly going to a syndicate of gamblers, who double-crossed the players.—Aus.-N-Z- Cable Assn.
