ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED IN A CREEK. By Telesrspli.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Thames, Sept. 28. A returned soldier named Walter Cloke fell into the flooded Ngarua creek Rt Kaihere (Haurakl Plains) this morning, and was drowned- Ho had been employed by the Lands Department. He Buffered from the effects of gas, and apparently was unable to struggle out of the creek. His wife gave the alarm, but when the body was recovered life was extinct.
