APPEAL AGAINST APPOINTMENT. UPHELD BY THE BOARD. By TeleeraiA —Press AsaoeUtion. Wellington, Last Night. When it was announced that Mi. H. M. Skcei, ..Commissioner of Crown Lands and Chief Surveyor of Auckland, had been appointed Surveyor-General for the Dominion, an appeal was made against this appointment by Mr. W. T. Neill, Chief Inspector of Surveys and Chief Computer in the Lands and Survey Department. The appeal was heard the other day by the Public Service Appeal Board, which decided that it should be upheld. [On the appointment of Mr- Skeet, it was notified that Mr. G. H. Bullard (Commissioner of Lands for Taranaki), would succeed Mr. Skeet at Auckland, but the transfer was deferred pending the result of the appeal.]
