THE MANNIX PROHIBITION.
KEEPING AGITATION ALIVE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 24. Conversations have taken place between representatives of the English hierarchy and the Chief Secretary for Ireland relative to the prohibition against Archbishop Mannix landing in Ireland. It is understood that the secretary agreed to arrange for an interview with the Premier, but Archbishop Mannix caused a breakdown in the negotiations. Strong influence is at work to induce Archbishop Mannix to emerge from his retirement into the open.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
