Tiie final for the ladies' open golf championship and Eliis Cup was won by Miss Bally (Cambridge), who defeated Miss M. Payton (Auckland), 3 up and 2 to play over 18 holes. LADIES' MATCh 10-MORROW.: The ladies of the New Plymouth Club will play a medal match to-morrow afternoon for a silver button. The draw is: Mrs. Anderson v. Mrs. Burke; Mrs. Johns v. Airs. Gray; Miss Shaw v. .Mrs. Perry; Miss Gavin v. Miss GoUiwaler; Mrs. Thomson v. Miss Bremer; Mrs. McQiude v. Miss Rundle; Miss Roilo v. Miss Thomsi.ii; Miss Brewster v. Miss Read; Mrs. Butcter v. .Vliss Stanford; Mrs. A. Smith v. Miss Greig. NORTH v. SOUTH TARANAKI. A match between teams representing North Tarauaki and South Tarnnak! will be played on the New Plymouth Club's links at Waiwakitiho to-day. STRATFORD CLUB. The fifth ladles' bogey competition held by I he. Stratford Club on Friday, resulted as follows: Mrs. Copipng (handicap 18), 5 down; Mrs. Glasgow (17), 5 down; Mrs. Curtis (11), I down; Miss Dudding (17), 7 down; Mrs. King (27), 8 down; Mrs. (16),, 9 down; Mrs. Riphards (22), 9 down; jtliss Wright (14), a down; Mrs. Rutherford (18), til down. Mrs. Copping and Mrs. Glasgow tied for the golf ball, and Miss Dudding and Mrs. King qualified. KIRKWOOD AT WANGANUI. J. 11. Kirkwood visited Wanganul on Friday and played on the Belmont course. In 'the morning lie played tho besl ball of C. Locke, tte Wanganui professional, and G. Maunders, the well-known Wanganuii amateur, and won 4up and 3. He took 76 for the louud. In the afternoon Kirkwood played the best ball of Locke and Dr. Ulrlch Williams, and won the match 3 up and 1. His round was 75. The record for the course is 70, which is held by Arthur Duncan, and though Kirkwood was unable to lower this score, it cannot be said that ho played under the best, conditions, Professionals of Kirkwood's calibre tegard two or tl:re« big matches in a week as sufficient, but last week Kirkwood played at Patea on Wednesday, at New Plymouth all day on Thursday, and then left New Plymouth by motor at ;j a.m. on Friday to play at Wahganul all day. =-
