TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday. Present: Messrs. G- H. Dullard (chairmnm), J. Hqslop, C. J. Eyan, N. R. Clelajid, and J. W. H. Martin. The following applications for land Were approved:—James l Farrelly, Sections 4, Block V., and 10, Block IX., Waro; 0. D. James, Section 2s, Taitama Settlement; 0, and C. W- Keichardt, Section 10, Block 11., Taurakawa; T. L. Beggs, Section 11, Block XIII., Cape. Applications for fee simple approved were; John Waghorn, Section 4, Block IV., Mapara; S. C. Pratt, Section 2, Block 111., Mapara; E. P. Eyan, Section 7, Block IV., Mapara. The following transfers were approved: Sections 149 and 150, Moa District, W. A. Officer to John Diggins; subsection 2, Section 42, Patea, J. A. McKenna to E. Ward; Section 575, New i'lymouth, C. Carter to H. Thomas; Section 141, Hua District, Newton King to Newton King, Ltd.; sub 1, Section 22, Block XV., Kaupokoniu, H. G. Lovell to C. W. White; Section 196, New Plymouth, H. G. Gavey to W". Hitchinson; Section 87, Block IV., Paritutu, S. Waller to J. Houlihan (subject to disposal of adjoining section); part section 30. Block X., Huiroa, H. E. Gray to H, G. L. Plews; Section 910 and c, Block 1., Taurakawa and c., F. W, Batty to 0. A and W. G- Gray. Transfers recommended for Minister's approval were: Part section 28, Block 1., Tangitu, trustees W. Barlow (deceased) to b. P. Ford (subject to ranger's report); sub-divisions !) and c of Section 72, Block XIV., Pouatu, N. W. King to Newton King, Ltd.; section J, Block 1., Piopiotea' West, A. L. Whatt to T. S. Tippetts (conditionally); Section 30, Block 11-, Piopiotea West, E. E. Mills to W .E. Matthews; Section 14, Block VII., Waro, N. C. Andrew to A. Redfern; Section 1, Block VIII., Pouatu, 3. Eooney to J. and T. F. Eooney; Section Is, Batapiko, A. Gannaway to self and A. Lee; Section 4s, Taitama Settlement, T. C- Eversfield to self and M. M. Taylor. Transfers refused were: ' Section 1, Block XI., Egmont, C. B. Lumsden to W. K. Wall; Section 80, Block X., Kaupokonui, A. and F. W. Hockley to D. 0MeClay. It was resolved to accept the surrender of the New Plymouth Borough Council lease over Sections 2145-6, 2158-61, and 2173, town of New Plymouth, and part lease for remainder of term, with right of renewal for periods of 21 yearsi Mr. F. P. Corkill to be valuator. It was resolved to offer Section 59, Block XII., fjftpe, at an upset rental of £2O per annum. It was resolved to grant a renewal lease over E.R. section 5, Block XIII., Ngatimaru, at £7O per annum. It was resolved to recommend for Minister's approval, B. Boult's application for pennission to grant timber rights over Section 9, Block XI., Tangi tiiRefunds of deposits by F. West and A. Lee were approved. It was resolved to re-offer Sections 2, Block XV., and Section 6, Block XIV., Malioe, at 22s fid per acre. The awards of th e arbitrators in the matter of the renewal leases of Sections 54, Block XIV., Huiroa, and 55, Block XI., Mimi, were approved. The application by 1). McLean to forfeit a portion of his holding was approved. It was resolved to rescind the conditional approval granted to the transfer from Hoimslow and Rule to S. Schultz on April 24, 1918. The surrender of Section 2, Block VIII., Waro (T. S. Senfbr) was accepted; ranacr to report for re-offering. Messrs. Wackrow and Bartholomew's application for tramway rights through Sections 9 and 10, Block 11., Piopiotea West, was left in the Commissioner's hands; the sections to be offered at first opportunity. The plan of Kohura Settlement was approved. A ballot was belli for Section Is, Araheke, Mr. C. R. Standfield drawing first marble, A. L. Warden second, and T. W. May third.
