Received Sept. 24, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Sept. 23. M. Deschanel's departure from the Presidential residence at Rambouillet was marked by pathetic scenes, and children wept when he entered his motor-car. The ex-President is sadly wasted, and is obviously in a state of great weakness. He passed between tiles of weeping domestics, on the arm of liia wife and father-in-law, and he cast a long farewell look on the scene as his car drove off towards Paris, where he is living in an hotel,. —Aus.-N.Z.
