PETITION TO THE PREMIER. By Telegraph.—Pr«« A«sn CopirlfSt ! Gisborue, Last Night. A ■petition signed by eighty- of the largest sheep farmers in the district, representing an ownership of one million sheep and a hundred thousand cattle, will be forwarded to the Premier, expressing the opinion that every encouragement should be gives to travel* of frozen meat to secure new markets for our produce, and with this object in view they should be allowed to operate in the Dominion, and either buy c.i.f., f.0.b., or on hooks for export, with safeguards existing under the 1918 Slaughtering Act. "Under no conditions , would we be favorable to any American , firm becoming owners or shareholders t in our freezing woffi," gays the pett- i tion.
