CORINNA FROM SOUTH. The Corinna, from South Island ports, arrived at 1 p.m. yesterday with 820 tons of general cargo. She will load 9500 crates of cheese for transhipment at Wellington. THE RIMU f The Rimu sailed frail Onehunga tor New Plymouth at 3 p.m. yesterday with 130 tons of general cargo for this port. She is expected to arrive early this morning, and sail on the return trip at 4.15 this afternoon. PORT PIRIE LOADING. The C. and D. liner Port Pirie was engaged loading cargo yesterday. She is expected to have finished by Tuesday, wlie.i she will sail for Wellington. INGA FROM SYDNEY. Advice has been received that the steamer Inga is loading timber and hardwood poles at Sydney for New Plymouth and Wanganul. The Inga is a vessel of 570 tons nett, and her last visit to New Plymouth was to December, 1914. WEST CAMARGO AT MELBOURNE. The American steamer West Camargo, which was at New Plymouth last week discharging a cargo of case oil from San Francisco, and which left litre on Friday, tho 17th inst., arrived at Molbcurne yesterday. MARAMA FROM SAX FRANCISCO. Tho Marama left San Francisco on September 14 for Wellington, and is due at Wellington on October C. She will sail on the return trip six days later. WESTRALIA BUFFETED. Tho Huddart-Parker steamer . Westralla, which arrived in the stream at Wellington from Melbourne direct on Thursday, encountered a heavy gale in tho Tasman Sea, which necessitated the vessel being hove-to for six hours. The Westralia left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on Friday last and at once ran into a southerly gale with a heavy .aoujherly sea and rain squalls. The gale gradually increased and the vessel shipped a quantity of water wh'.cli smashed tho starboard companlonway. At 11.30 o'clock on Monday night, Captain Morris hove his ship to until 5.30 am. on Tuesday. The gale somewhat moderated but continued until arrival. THE "PORT" LINE. Through its Commonwealth and Dominion service, the Cunard Shipping Company Is becoming imoro closely associated with the development of the New Plymouth harbor and the Increasing trade of the port. The C. and D. Line represents the Australasian Bection of the Cunard service, and consists of twenty-three steamers of the 'Tort" nomenclature, such as the Port Pirie, now at the New Plymouth harbor, the Port Alma, Port Hacking, etc. There are also a number of ships In the course of construction. The boats of the C. and D. Line have been specially equipped for the Australasian trade, particular attention having been paid to the provision of Insulated space in the various steamers. The Port Pirie, which is now loading Taranaki produce here, lias a carrying Capacity of 14,000 tons. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED.
