White Ranger's form at Plymouth and at Awapuni tempted many Taranakl sports to put a pound on him, and the horse paid the best dividend of the day.

At one part of the Okehu Hurdles, Endure looked like coming in on his own, but he curled up when tackled by White Ranger, and could only finish third. "Snowy" Morris had Yolo In a nice position all the way in the Spring Handicap, and taking tire lead at the home turn, won with a bit in hand.

Warrawee's failure on Thursday was a blow tc Wanganui backers, but that was not his true form, and there may be a different tale to tell the next time he is saddled /up. His party were getting a great ''price" in the Futiki Hack Handicap on Thursday, but he will be better backed if saddled up to-day. The weather at Wanganui on Thursday was execrable, but out of pure cussedness, Friday was a beautiful spring day. It is quite on the cards that the weather will keep fine over Saturday.

Crucelle won her race so comfortably on Thursday that there is no saying how good she really is. By Signor, out of: Cruclnella, she should not only go fast but stay a distance as well.
