THE GAMING BILL.
"TO GET A FAIR RUN." . PRIVATE 'MEMBERS' BILLS. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A statement that the Prime Minister had promised favorable treatment to Mr. G. Hunter's Gaming Amendment Bill, proposing to increase the number of permits in favor of country clubs, was mentioned in the House by Mr. J. McCombs (Lyttelton), who wanted to know if other private members' Bills now at the bottom of the order paper were going to get a chance. The Prime Minister replied that the statement concerning Mr. Hunter's Bill was correct. He had been asked by a deputation in the eaiiv days of the session to see that this Gaming Amendment Bill got a run. He had promised then that Mr. HuntJSr would be given an opportunity to move the second reading, and he proposed when the proper opportunity offered to see tH'at the member got the opportunity. He had also promised Mr. Statham an opportunity to move the second reading of his Elective Executive Bill Mr. McCombs: "What about the Labor members' Bills'" Mr. Massey: "So rae of the Labor Bills will be dealt with.
