FARMERS' CO-OP. ORG. SOCIETY'S REPORT On Monday, 13th Inst., at Opunake, we held our usual fortnightly sale. There was a good yarding of cattle, especially in dairy pen*. Store cattle showed an advancement in prlee. Dairy cattle were yarded In excess of demand, and only best sorts were sold under the hummer. We quote:—Ewes and lambs, £2 ss; hoggets, £1 7s; store pigs, £1 13s, £2; best cows to £l2; fresh-conditioned cows, £8 4s, £9 12s Gd; store cows, £5, £6 10s; empty 2-year heifers, £0 17s, £7 4s; yearling heifers, £3 8s; best dairy heifers close to profit, £lB to £2O; others, £ll2 15s, £ 14; later and* more backward sorts, £ 8, £lO 10s. At Manaia on Tuesday we had a full yarding of cattle. Buyers were in attendance, and fresh conditioned and fat cattle sold at high rates. We quote: Store plge, £2 4s, £8 1«; fat cows, £l3 to £ls 10s; good conditioned do., £lO 8s to £ll 6s; store cows, £5 17s Cd, £7 lis. Others at market values. Yedrling heifers, best sorts, £6 2s; others, £4 18s. In the dairy pens, the cattle yarded did not show' much quality. Average heifers £lO, £l2 10s; later sorts to £9. At S'ratford on Tuesday there was a full yarding of all classes of stock. Buyers were in attendance,' and a good sale resulted. On Wednesday we held our usual fortnightly sale at Inglewood. There was a good demand for all stock. Bidding was brisk, and practically the whole yarding was sold under the liammer. HAMILTON STOCK MARKET. The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report :—- At Hamilton on Thursday, we held our weekly sale, and had a good average yarding of both cattle and sheep. The cattle market generally evinced a much brighter tone, and practically everything changed hands. Beef was in fair supply, and drew v good competition. Bullocks unade up to £l7 ss, and cows to £l4 2s 6d. Empty store cows were sought* after, although the quality was very ordinary. Prices ranged between £0 5s and £7 'to Cd for light framed sorts. Two-year steers were well represented and well competed for. The best made from £7 5s to £8 2s Od; smaller sorts £5 7s Od to £6; empty heifers made a sharp decline, and for fair quality sold up to £7 12s Od; smaller sorts, £0 to £0 7s Od; yearling steers were much on ft par with recent sales, making up to £4 10s for medium quality; yearling heifers, £3 lOs.to £4. No prime sheep were yarded. In general the sheep market was dull, and many of the lines failed to fln'd purchasers. Fat ewes reached 38s 3d; forward ewes, 28s to 31s.
