AN IMPOSING CEREMONY. Paris, Sept. 18. Advices from Beirut state that an imposing ceremony was witnessed at Aleppo, when General- Gourand proclaimed the autonomy of the province under French protection. He stated that the French would maintain order and endeavor to bring prosperity to the country.
