IRISH CRISIS.
ATTACK ON SINN FEINERS. CAPTURED WHILE TRAINING. By Wlsnapn.—Press Aasn.'-CoMTlght. Received Sept. 20, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 19. A strong force of troops surprised and surrounded Stan Fein volunteers drilling in the Wicklow mountains, and a sharp fight followed, in which bombs and rifles were used. The Sinn Feiners surrendered after one was killed and several wounded. ■ The encounter occurred near Ennismore. The authorities having learned that drilling was in progress, mobilised a fleet of motor lorries filled with troops. The Sinn Feiners, .though outnumbered, decided to resist arrest, and forty were captured and placed on motor lorries. An armored car assisted the military. One account states that the coup was effected by a police auxiliary corps, consisting largely of ex-service men.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
