EVERYBODYS. "THE RAINBOW TRAIL" MATINEE TO-DAY. William Farnum, the famous William Pox star, is the attraction this afternoon and tonight in "The Rainbow Trail," based on a novel by Zane Grey and a sequel to "Riders of the Purple Sage." "The Rainbow Trail" was photographed in the wilds of the Arizona desert and is a typical William Farnum production. It abounds in thrilling events and episodes. Mr. Farnum is supported by his famous cowboys, who do some marvelous riding and shooting. The scenic effects are beautiful, among those shown being the painted desert, the Grand Canyon of Arizona, and the homes of the ancient Aztec cliff dwellers. There also are numerous glimpses of the Navajo reservation and its inhabitants. THE PEOPLES. A BIG DOUBLE BILL. To-days big double bill presents H.B. Warner in "The Grey Wolf's Gho 3 t". A vivid "picture of the great South-West and a thrilling romance of the early Californians, and William Russell in another of his six cylinder plays "The Hero Stuff," as well as the latest Sunbeam comedy. H. B. Warner, the famous star, has a virile and colorful vehicle in "The Gray Wolf's Ghost," a screen adaption of Bret Hajte's exciting tale of early California days. The fascination and the story has lost none of its gripping intensity in its screen adaptation. The matinee to-day commences at •2 p.m. EMPIRE THEATRE TONIGHT. "THE FAMOUS DIGGERS." Tonight should witness a scene of enthusiastic mirth and merriment, when The iampus Diggers" under the direction of Air. Victor .Beck will appear at the L'mpire Theatre, and present an entirely new programme of humorous items, musical gems, potted revues, brilliant ensembles, clever comedy sketches, and eccentric dances from their extensive repertoire. ' The Diggers" are a happy band of comedians, singers, dancers, and burlesque artists, and have just concluded a highly successful tour of Australia under the direction of J. C. Williamson, Ltd. Of their opening performance in Brisbane, The Courier says: The opening night of the Australian tour of 'The Famous Diggers on Saturday night was another triumph for this company. The show scintillates with clean humour, and each member is ail artist to his finger-tips. The programme is of a broadly popular standard. The company totals twenty, including a wellbalanced orchestra of ten artists, and as entertainers they command enough talent to storm even the most undemonstrative audiences." "The whole show, to be colloquial, is a scream. Judging by the first night 'The Diggers' need have no fear of critical Australian audiences. They will get there because their show pome 3 up to all that has been said of it." "The Diggers" captivated local theatre goers at their last visit to this town, and will no doubt be greeted by" a crowded house again this evening. The box plans are at Colliers.
