The American Legation at Havana has issued a warning that the United States will prevent violence or revolutionary activities in connection with the forthcoming Cuban Presidential election. It is understood that the Federal Government is considering proposals for the temporary-*.reduction of the Australian Navy owing to the excessive cost of maintaining vessels now obsolete. The Australian Central Wool Committee's report shows that the opera-, tions for two years involved transactions amounting to 174 millions sterling. A dividend of 5% millions will bo paid on September 22.' Official investigation shows that Germany is dumping inferior goods on the American markets for sale at cut-throat prices, and is also dumping goods in England marked "made in America." The tercentenary of the sailing of the Mayflower is being celebrated at Lcyden, Amsterdam, and 'Rotterdam. Two hundred delegates of various nations are present. The New South Wales Cabinet agreed to the proposal by Mr. M'Girr that the motherhood subsidy be six shilling's for each child, provided the father's income with the subsidy does not exceed £3OO.
