HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. LIQUOR AT BELLAMY'S. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Nighi. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. Before the business commenced, the Speaker announced that tie result of the poll taken amongst members of both Houses as to whether liquor be sold in Bellamy's during the term of the present Parliament was as followse—Legislative Council: Ayes 24, Noes 17. House of Representatives: Ayes 60, Noes 24. Total in favor of the sale of liquor 74, against 41. PURCHASE OF BENZINE. Replying to Mr. Wilford, Mr. Massey said, the Government was considering the question of purchasing 30,000 cases of benzine which were under offer ,to a firm in Wellington, but which offer that firm could not take. PRIVATE BILLS, The following Bills were introduced and read a first time:—Wanganui Borough Council Empowering and Acquisition Bill (Mr. Veitch); Wanganui River J Trust Amendment Bill (Mr. Veitch); New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Bill (Mr. S. G. Smith);. Akarana and Waitemata Counties Bill (Hon. J. G. Coates). At 3.10 p.m. the debate on the Budget Wa3 resumed.
