PUKEKURA PARK.

SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD. A special meeting of the Pukekurn Park Board was held last night, Mr. C. R Bellringer (chairman) presiding. It was decided to increase the salary of the curator (Mr. W. W. Smith) as from April Ist. Messrs. W. C. Weston and P. Stainton were deputed to wait upon the Advisory Committee of the New Plymouth Technical College with a view to securing some contribution towards the upkeep of the sports grounds, in view of the fact that they were used by the students as a playing ground. The sub-committee appointed to consider tlio question of the bettor supervision of gate receipts at the park submitted a report as to what course should be followed in this matter, and the Board adopted their recommendations. At the suggestion of 'Mrs. Burgess it was decided to have an Apple Day Mart on May Bth.

An offer of a live sheep for a weightguessing competition from the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Co., was gratefully accepted.
